About Me

I am a doctor mom of two kids (and a dog and a husband!). I am US trained and American board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I trained at Robert Wood Johnson/Cooper Medical center in New Jersey and was chief resident in Obstetrics and gynecology. After finishing my training I was on faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, DC where I was an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I have worked in Maryland and Virginia where I was medical director of an OB hospitalist program for Delphi Healthcare and a regional medical director responsible for overseeing East Coast hospitalist programs for the company.

I moved to Dubai in 2010 where I worked for Mediclinic Middle East at both Mediclinic Welcare Hospital and Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai. I took some time to be back in the US, where I worked at INOVA Fairfax hospital in Virginia and obtained a certificate in Sexual Medicine from University of Michigan.   I returned to the Middle East to become Head of the Department of Mediclinic Parkview Hospital.

My interests are in sexual medicine, perimenopause and menopause, and high risk obstetrics.

FAQ

Your gyn visit is a time to discuss your reproductive health. Ask questions about your period: How many days should you bleed, how much pain is normal? Etc. Ask about the types of tests needed to keep yourself healthy: Do you need a Pap smear? Mammogram? STI testing? Ask about pregnancy prevention: which type of contraception is right for you? Risks and benefits of the contraception you are interested in, etc.

What can you do to prepare for pregnancy?

Focus on your reproductive health- your gynecologist is an expert in this area!!

I usually discuss diet, exercise, miscarriage and prenatal care with all my patients at the first visit. Other important questions are who will deliver your baby if your doctor is not available and how can you get in touch with your doctor?
